I recently hired the Bethesda Downsizing and Estate Sales team to manage a downsizing sale prior to moving from my home for a huge renovation project. This project had been on the calendar for sometime (pre-COVID). When it was time for the sale, they were not able to conduct an actual in-person sale due to social distancing and limitations of crowd size. The team working on my sale was led by Joanna, and they spent days researching, photographing, describing, and pricing the items. The entire sale was conducted on-line. The images of items to be sold were amazing and comprehensive, sales were handled electronically, and the company provided either curbside pickup or delivery service. Having witnessed the process, I was amazed at the HUGE amount of work involved (under the challenging environmental circumstances) to get everything up and running. The service provided was outstanding and the sale was very successful. Kudos to the team which I would recommend in a heartbeat. They have my highest recommendations, and I will certainly use them in the future at the time of a move or additional downsizing.

Bethesda Downsizing was amazing in our otherwise wrenching move from our home of 27 years that we’d built from scratch with a top architect and top designer. We had never done an estate/downsizing sale so we visited local sales in the area. We chose Bethesda Downsizing and Estate Sales (BDES) based on a visit by a company representative who gave us advice and reviewed what our downsizing needs were. This helpful consult lead us to signing a contract.
The sale itself was preceded by several visits from BDES staff to stage and price our items and to recommend furniture location and placement. BDES also provided an appraiser for a day to assure prices were realistic. Our sale was conducted 9/22, 23 and 24. Everything leading up to the sale and the actual sale itself lived up to our expectations. The staff member in charge of our sale, Barbara, was very knowledgeable and provided us with advice and guidance through the entire process. BDES also scheduled charities to help us sort and donate unsold items. We recommend BDES. We were very happy with the results.!

They intuited what needed to be done at every step and guided me there to get the job done right--as my mom would have wanted it in fact. Bethesda Downsizing was the epitome of professionalism. From the moment we contacted them, they did everything they could to fit our schedule, and put any fears we had to rest. Our sale was a somewhat daunting task. My father is elderly, and not used to changes in his routine. Brette understood this and patiently worked with him to not only explain the process, but also make him feel like part of the team. She couldn't have been nicer.

Not surprisingly, the sale was a huge success. We sold more than we ever expected, and took full advantage of Brette's post sale team to empty the house all together.
